Love a Man Who Risks It All For Love!

She was looking for freedom....
When the always obedient Lady Iona is pressured into accepting a husband of her father’s choosing, she seeks out the notorious rake, Lord Nathan Wynter, for his help in learning how to standup for herself.

He was looking for respect...
While Iona is seeking adventure, Lord Nathan is doing his honest best to reform his ways in order to repair his reputation and his disastrous relationship with his family. Winning the very proper Lady Iona for a wife would go a long way to achieving that end.

They found each other.

The more Nathan tries to protect Lady Iona from running head-long into disgrace, the more he admires her daring spirit and unpredictable antics. Instead of returning her to the obedient world to which she was raised, he encourages her blossoming passions. Such a move is surely going to lead them both to ruin.

But for love he is willing to risk everything.

Who is Dorothy McFalls? Well for Dorothy, happily-ever-after is more than just a fictional ending. In fact, she’s convinced she is living her own magical version of a fairytale. With faith and a little hard work, she’s enjoyed every day of the last fifteen years of marriage to her sexy sculptor husband who often exhibits the patience of a saint. They reside in an artsy beach community in South Carolina with two dogs and a cat. An environmental urban planner by profession and wildlife biologist by education, she gave up her day job to devote her time to writing. She writes Regency romances, romantic suspense, and short stories. Dorothy loves to hear from her readers. You can send email to Dorothy@dorothymcfalls.com

Some reviews:
"Lady Iona’s Rebellion took me by storm. Not only is the writing grand, but the whole premise of the storyline is beautifully created. Iona is sassy and bright and I loved how she stands her ground for her independence. A hot-blooded Nathan and a desirable Iona, wow, this story sizzles with excitement, passion and the natural interference of families. Dorothy McFalls develops an intriguing read where characters linger long after the story ends. The well-sculptured secondary characters definitely put a spin on the story. This is one tantalizing read that is truly extraordinary in a most satisfying way." ** 4 Cups ** --Cherokee, Coffee Time Romance

"LADY IONA’S REBELLION by Dorothy McFalls is an outrageous romp through Regency England with two wonderfully compelling characters as they find themselves dodging scandal on the way to discovering love." ** 4 Ribbons ** --Anita, Romance Junkies

"The plot is fresh and adventuresome and each sister, brother, parent, friend and servant were a tribute to this wonderful story of confusion! The more Iona and Nathan experienced together, the more involved the events became! Each time Nathan did anything, it was perceived as scandalous; Lady Iona had the sympathy of the entire ton because, since she was known as the malleable child, it was never expected that she had anything to do with the outrage! This is a meticulous novel in which Ms. Dorothy McFalls showed her vast talent in the expansion of this book. I literally could not put it down. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who loves regency romance. This book will go well on your "keeper" list!" ** 5 Hearts ** --Brenda Talley, The Romance Studio

Sally: When did you start writing?
Dorothy: When haven't I been writing? Well, I suppose I didn't get much done while in college. I was much too busy with...um...other things than to work on my fiction. But some of my earliest (and best) memories involve making up stories in my head. As soon as I learned to write, I started put these stories down into little picture books for myself and my family. That's not to say those first stories were any good. Yet creating them gave me great pleasure. I remember one about monsters and another about talking cows and I'm sure there were several spy stories in the mix as well.

In 2001, I decided it was time to follow my dream of writing professionally. So, I developed a very detailed (and strict) budget and quit my job. Almost the next day, I discovered that if I was going to be a successful writer, I needed to actually learn the craft of writing. And that's the day when I really began writing.

Sally: Okay, so who encouraged you to write or influenced you the most?
Dorothoy: I'm lucky to have a family who encouraged me and a husband who believes in me. But there is one person--a teacher--who provided me with a great gift. She was my third grade teacher. Though I can't remember her name, I remember very well the day she picked the poem I'd written to be published in the school newsletter. And I also clearly remember the words she wrote on the top of my copy of that newsletter: "Keep writing. You're going to do something great with your words one day." It's amazing how such a small piece of kindness can stick with you for a lifetime. Her words of encouragement helped fuel my desire to become the writer I am today.

Sally: What inspired you to write Lady Iona's Rebellion?
Dorothy: I know several writers who claim their characters are like friends to them. I suppose that is true for me, too, which should probably make me worry about how I treat my real-life-flesh-and-blood friends. I mean, my characters never get a moment's peace. I put them through hell and if they manage to survive that, I drop a bomb on their heads. It's a miracle that when I meet a real-life friend on the street, she doesn't let out a scream and take off running in the opposite direction.

But even though I wish horrible things for my characters, I do love them. Especially Lady Iona. She showed up as a minor character in my debut Regency: The Marriage List (which is contracted to be reissued by Cerridwen Press). There was something special about her. She had a knack for finding trouble, and I knew as I was writing The Marriage List that Iona simply had to have her own book! She was so good at getting herself into trouble--and had so much fun doing it--that Lady Iona's Rebellion practically wrote itself.

Heck, I liked her so much, when my husband and I got a new Papillon puppy this past February I named the rambunctious scamp Lady Iona!

Sally: What do you enjoy the most about writing?
Dorothy: What don't I enjoy? Well, rejection letters. But that has nothing to do with the writing-side of writing, now does it? Writing romance is a dream job for me. It's similar to playing house with dolls. I get to make up elaborate stories for my characters and put them in wondrous places. And I'm in control...most of the time. What can be better than that?
Sally: What is your naughty secret?Dorothy: Oh my goodness. I'm terribly boring, I'm afraid. All this spending too much time in your own head can do that to a person. I bet the naughtiest secret I could tell you is that I love to read erotica. The hotter the better!

Sally: Why Regency period? What captures your imagination about this period in history?
Dorothy: That's a great question. What is a wildlife biologist by training and an environmental urban planner by profession doing writing about the Regency period? You're supposed to write what you know. And let me tell you, when I set out on this path, I knew nothing about the Regency period. All I knew was that reading Regency romances sparked my imagination. They are very much like the fairytales we grew up with as children. And I ask you, who can resist a rakish lord dressed in tight pants?

But that wasn't the only thing that made me chose During the Regency period. There was the glitter and the romance of that short period in English history. It was a time when the public followed the lives of the aristocracy just like we follow celebrities today. Crowds would gather to watch the lords and ladies dressed in their finest suits and gowns emerge from their carriages to attend balls. Gossip columns in the daily newspapers spilled the dirt on the latest scandals. But beneath the glitter and the excess--just like today--some very real, very compelling dramas were playing out. Although historical romances whisk us away to another place and another world, I believe the struggle to be loved and make our relationships work despite the odds against us is something we all understand.

So, instead of writing what I knew, I set out to writing what I loved to read. Not that it was an easy path to take. When working on a historical, I spend hours a day at the library researching the period and location . Some of my best resources are fictional works that were published during the Regency. Luckily, I enjoy the research almost as much as the writing.

Thank you, Dorothy, for being with us. Everyone be sure to visit Dorothy's website.

Have a wonderful Sunday (if you are in the same timezone as the hussies! If not, have a super Monday!)

Hubba Hubba what a fantastic book cover! I can feel the heat! And the story is even better!

DREAMS ECLIPSED

Janet's orgasms are earth-shattering. At least they are when she's Dreaming in the Zodiac, a virtual reality world created by Dr. Archer Tate. The problem is that, technically, a system shutdown shouldn't be possible, especially not from a mere orgasm. Gamely, Janet reveals every intimate detail of her Dreams for the team's troubleshooting analysis but several weeks later, the cause of the anomalous malfunction remains a mystery.

Archer blames Janet for the Zodiac's glitch. He just can't figure out how she's causing it. Listening to her reveal her lusty Dreams, orgasm by orgasm, is driving him insane. For the sake of the project and his sanity, he decides to Dream with her so he can catch her in the act and put this business to rest.

There's more to Janet's orgasmic Dreaming than mere mechanics. It takes someone who knows Janet's heart as well as her mind and body to create the disruptive orgasm. When the team psychologist, Liam, insists he's better suited for the job, Archer realizes he could lose something more precious to him than his machine.

Will sharing Janet with Liam solve their problems, or will he lose her forever?

The author of this unique creative book is Kira Stone and just who is she?

Kira Stone lives in a warm, many-chambered cave tucked away in the Scottish Highlands. A small band of ever-changing heroes keeps her company. As they relax in front of a roaring fire, devils dance and angels sing her bawdy songs. Faerie folk often stop in for a cup of mulled wine and to listen to her spin a yarn or two. And when daylight turns to dusk, together they somehow find a way to keep the cold, uncaring world at bay for another night…

Okay, maybe not. LOL. When Kira isn't living in a fantasy world, she's writing about one from her ordinary house in Ohio with a few feline companions (who don't sing nearly as well as the angels do). Is it any wonder she prefers the cave?

I was able to drag Kira away from her virutal fantasyland long enough to answer a few questions.

Sally: Welcome to the Hussies Book Slam, Kira. (Kira ducks.) Whoa, easy there. (Looking around the library.) Relax. You've been in that virtual reality too long. This is a real room. I yanked you out of the virutal world. That's right, have a seat by the window. Comfy? Good. Now tell me, Kira, what led you to writing and this particular genre?
Kira: The first book I ever wrote is still on my WIP shelf, but there was something so... compelling... about the idea that I just had to put it on paper. Like a song you can't get out of your head. I suppose I was more stubborn than many, because it took me months to get the hint. But once I started, I couldn't stop. With luck, I never will. *g* As to the genre, I don't really have a choice. I've drawn lines in the creative sand, and my muses generally laugh and shove me over them. So, I just roll with what inspires me, regardless of genre.

Sally: Speaking of rolling around, this book has a lot of orgasmic pleasures happening. Quite a bit of action. Ahem... aside from the obvious, what did you enjoy the most about writing this book?
Kira: The menage scenes in the castle, particularly the shower scene. The characters were a lot of fun to write.

Sally: Okay, see, that was what I thought. (VBG). So now I have to ask, did any real person(s) inspire any of your characters?
Kira: No, generally I get inspired by snippets of conversation, but not people as a whole.

Sally: Ahha... I now see how this idea began to unfolded. Kira is sitting by the water fountain in the mall, eavesdropping on two men and a woman discussing last night, all the while never suspecting Kira isn't really playing a video game on her Blackberry. You're shaking your head. No? Very well, let me ask something elese. What's in store for your readers?
Kira: Many new places, and people, to meet. *g* This book was originally much different. Turns out there were two plots hiding in one story and I had to split them. So, the other half has now been accepted by EC. Readers will see another side of the complex that houses the Zodiac machine. *g* And, if my muses will cooperate, Liam should have a story of his own someday soon.

Sally: Now that sounds like a lot of fun! And speaking of fun, what is your naughty secret?
Kira: I find earlobes to be VERY sexy. *blushes*

Sally: I see.. hmm...Sounds like fodder for another book.

It's been fun having you with us, Kira. Everyone, be sure and visit Kira and grab your copy of Dreams Eclipsed.

She's got it, yeah baby she's got it

I'm talking about Lauren Dane, of course. A talent for romance, and all things erotic, Lauren's books have been inspiring us (and heating us up) for several years. Today, I'd like to feature one of her recent releases from Ellora's Cave, Threat of Darkness.

This book is a spinoff of Lauren's Witches Knot Series, but if you haven't read this series and want to start with this book, it can be read alone.

Mei is a Warrior for the Balance. She stands between good and evil. So when her boss tells her she's got to head to Tir na nOg to help the Fae she is most displeased. Mei's mother Aine, the queen of the Fae, betrayed and exiled her millennia ago. Or so she's been led to believe.

But Aine was misled by her own sister, and suddenly everything Mei has thought was true for thousands of years falls down around her ears as she looks up to see the face of her husband. Her first husband, a man she'd thought was dead.Jayce MacTavish is surprised to find that his wife, thought millennia dead, is alive, but his joy is tempered by the realization that she's got another mate.

Mei, Card and Jayce must find a way to be together as three while a threat from the Dark Fae and a new enemy darkens the horizon.

This is fantasy at its best and Lauren really pulled off the ménage with sizzle, but more importantly with emotional depth. It's a tale of love and loss, of the battle between darkness and light and a tale where hope doesn't die, but is kept alive by love.

Lauren has received rave reviews on this book.

Pam at My Book Cravings gives THREAT OF DARKNESS five flowers and says in part: The sexual encounters between the three mates are everything you could wish for in a ménage grouping…sizzling hot, steamy and above all loving. It’s all that you could ask for in a fantasy romance. I eagerly look forward to the next book by Miss Dane. Read and enjoy!

Aris at Alternative Read says of Threat of Darkness: Let the magic fly. A powerful story of love and the loss of that love, then finding even stronger love, in being bound to two. Hot, steamy, sexy, and tender, all you could want in a romance.

Lisa at The Romance Studio gives THREAT OF DARKNESS four and a half hearts and says in part: (…) it is very apparent this author spent a lot of time organizing her notes and crafting a riveting tale of dark forces battling the good. Mei’s relationship with her mates, Jayce and Card, is the most important part of this story. Their love and concern for her keeps her sane and bolsters her spirits when her body is depleted of magic. We get to revisit characters from the Witches Knot series, and that’s always exciting to see how past heroes and heroines are faring
Serena at FAR gives THREAT OF DARKNESS four angels and says in part: (…) this was a fantastic book. The characters are well-rounded and truly real ‘feeling’. (…) Both Jayce and Card were definitely drool-worthy and I loved Mei’s strength throughout the book. I truly hope that we are able to revisit the relationship that’s been established in this book.

If you haven't yet read Threat of Darkness, then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Hurry on over to Ellora's Cave and while you're there, check out all of Lauren's other great books.

And just who is this fabulous writer? Well, Lauren describes herself as a suburban mom with a salacious imagination that she’s put to good use with her writing. Her favorite thing is when people tell her that she doesn’t look like “someone who’d write those books.”

She lives in the Northwest with her husband and three very rambunctious kids. She writes everything from paranormals to contemporary BDSM books and develops terrible crushes on all of her heroes.

Even though she lives in her head a lot, she does venture outside from time to time to collaborate with other authors, oh and to buy shoes too.

Well, I think this suburban mom has one heck of a talent and I'm looking forward to a lot more books from her. Do visit Lauren's site for more on her and her writing.

Thanks, Lauren, for being our Must Read Featured Author, and hey girl, this hussy is looking
forward to the next time we catch up!!

Thanks everyone for visiting. Hope to see you again soon. And as our Genuine Hussy Sahara

Get ROPED and you'll be hooked for life

I'm taking about Ann Jacob's latest release from Ellora's Cave, Roped, the first in her Heart of the West series.

Can you say sizzling hot? Woo babies, this book delivers in spades!! I love the way Jared is brought back to life (s0 to speak) by the beautiful Ninia, rediscovering his dominant nature. Had me jumping in the pool so much I was almost a prune!!

If you haven't gotten your copy yet, GET IT ON and hurry over to Ellora's Cave. You'll be sooooo glad you did!

To tease you a little, here's a short blurb:

Roped:
Book 1 in the Heart of the West series

Returning from the war, his body wounded, his soul hurting, Jared faces a very different life. A sexual Dominant, doubts about his ability now to satisfy any submissive plague him.Until Ninia. The face of an angel and the body of a centerfold, she's about as unsubmissive as any woman he's known. A nurse in the Cheyenne VA hospital where Jared is sent, Ninia is tough, in control.

Until Jared catches her in an unguarded moment and see a vulnerable, softer side. It fires his blood with a need to find out more.

Accepting an invitation to a local dungeon, the sexual Dominant in Jared rears back to full potency when he sees Ninia, submissively awaiting his pleasure, his dominance. Now he knows what he wants. And he's about to prove to Ninia he's man enough to take it.

Wooooo hoooooo! I have to give up one secret. He's darn sure man enough. Oh yeah!!

I had a chance to chat with the talented and prolific author about this book and the others in the Heart of the West series. Here's what Ann had to say:

It's been a long time coming--EC contracted it back in early 2004 but I've just this summer finished Jared and Ninia's story. I'm as excited about these three siblings and their takes on Dominance and submission as I can remember having been since I started on my first book eons and eons ago!

The fabulous Syneca has created perfect covers for all three books: ROPED, HITCHED and LASSOED. Hopefully, if the muse stays sharp and my fingers don't freeze up on me, I'll finish HITCHED this month. It's about Jared's big brother, BDSM dungeon master Brad. and his favorite sub who wants nothing of a 24/7 master--even if it's the hottest Dom who's ever whispered sweet orders in her ear.

Next month I'll tackle LASSOED, where big sister Nancy rejoins the lifestyle after getting away from a cruel Dom-- this time as a Domme she's determined no one will ever hurt again. The rugged rancher she lassoes is willing to play the sub for her, but when she realizes his heart's not in the game she decides she can perform a Switch.

All this is set against the breathtaking backdrop of southern Wyoming, the rough, tough land the siblings all call home.

I'm hoping readers will enjoy these three emotionally charged stories of Dominance, submission, and the power of love for a lifetime.

Ann honey, you know this Hussy will be eager to read the next installment of this exciting series. And hey, take care of those fingers. Don't want anything to prevent you from delivering more exciting, sexy reads! Thanks so much for being our featured, Must Read author. You know you always have a fan in me, and I'm sure I speak for a multitude of other readers who say "yahooo, Ann. Bring it on baby!!"

Thanks for being with us and sharing our excitement for the latest release from the sizzling author Ann Jacobs. Visit Ann's site to learn more about her writing and pay a visit to Ellora's Cave for more of her fabulous books. Have a hussicilious day and remember, your inner hussy would Love to come out and play.

Looking for something hot and sexy?

Well look no further! Author Kate Hill brings it on in spades. I became a fan of Kate's several years ago. She never ceases to amaze and delight me, and her latest release from Ellora's Cave, Winter Stallion is no exception.

By now you know I'm not going to give away much about the book (after all that would spoil your fun), but I am going to tell you that you need to utilize high-speed access if you have it and zip on over to Ellora's Cave and GET THIS BOOK!

Winter Stallion

Just before the winter holiday called Unity Feast begins, Phillipa is called to deliver an urgent message to a neighboring village. On her way home, she is knocked unconscious but awakens safe in a forest cabin. Her rescuer is a Horseman with elfish blue eyes and a coat as pure as freshly fallen snow. Exquisitely handsome and breathtakingly virile, he wants to claim her as his mate and for the first time in her life Phillipa has no desire to resist.

Recovering from a near-fatal flight, Luther has been living in self-proclaimed exile. To him, a Fighting Carrier who lost his entire Gathering party is no longer fit to lead. His solitude is shattered by the arrival of a woman who sets his very soul on fire. Enveloped by Phillipa’s soft, warm curves and hungry for her kisses, he finds pleasure in her that all Horsemen wish for.
Unfortunately she won’t rest until she convinces him to face the truth about that tragic flight and take his place among the greatest Horsemen warriors in the world.

Wooo honey, this horseman will have you itching to ride for sure! I'm serious. I was nudging Phillipa before poor Luther had a chance to make a move. Go girl, go!! Seriously. And I'm not the only one wowed by the book. It's already earned a Recommended Read From Fallen Angel Reviews.

More Hot in the Saddle fun

Woo hoooo! Today is a big day for one of the Hussies (namely me). Scout'n'Cole, my third book of the Hot in the Saddle Series releases day from Ellora's Cave, the world's premier publisher of erotic romance.

Here's a little blurb:

Cole had no trouble attracting women. The Russell men were all blessed physically, and Cole was no exception. However, finding a woman who could match his passion for the wilderness as well as ignite passions of a different kind in his life was the problem.

Scout Windrider knew that love wasn’t for her. She’d yet to encounter a man who took her breath away, and figured it was just as well. What man would want to hook up with a woman who spent most of her life in the wild, tracking mountain lions?

Neither of them could have foreseen being paired in a no-kill hunt turned deadly would force them to confront an explosive attraction hot enough to consume them with its heat. Faced with a murderous madman intent on exacting revenge against the Windrider family, Scout and Cole take a leap of faith with each other, and discover something relegated to myth and legend prove to be true, that will touch their lives in a way that will change them forever.

KOKO BROWN is a new author with EC,debuting with her first book, CHARMED. I love the premise of her first EC Book! Below is the blurb Koko sent me:

CHARMED

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right?
Unfortunately, this isn’t the case for recently married Chloe Walker, who believes she's left behind the biggest mistake she's ever made in her life in Sin City - her new husband Tristan, who although a walking Adonis is nuttier than her grandma Violet’s fruitcake because he thinks he’s a flesh and blood vampire!

However, after returning home, Chloe discovers that Tristan might not have been the loony toon she first assumed him to be. But while she must come to terms with the strange new changes in her life, she must also fend off a husband, who despite her weight insecurities is hell bent on winning her back and turning her into a full fledged vampire.

So who is Koko Brown?
Ever since the age of nine, KoKo Brown has had a love for the written word. So much so, that she decided to publish her own newspaper. Turning a tidy profit from the very first issue, the publication was unfortunately put out of business by KoKo’s grade school principal, who didn’t appreciate outside competition.

Undaunted, KoKo has never strayed too far from her "passion", whether it was writing for her college's literary magazine, bringing some "liveliness" to her local newspaper’s obituary page, writing web page content to attract visitors to Florida's beautiful Space Coast or even trying her hand at erotic fiction.

A quissential romance junkie, Koko became hooked on erotica during the summer of 2006. One day while daydreaming, she came up with the plot for her first erotic tale Charmed, which will be released on September 21, 2007.
After fleshing out a completed manuscript in only two weeks, she decided to test the waters, by sending it to one of her favorite erotic publishers Ellora’s Cave, the largest publisher of erotic literature in the world. A couple of months later, she received the call from Carole Genz her soon to be editor at Ellora's Cave, who offered her a publishing contract.

Currently, Ms. Brown is working on several other erotic stories, including a sequel to Charmed. When not writing, this Florida native likes spending time with family and friends, riding her Yamaha 650 Classic, surfing the internet, or traveling to exotic locales.

I caught up with this talented new author and like the good Hussy I am convinced her to answer some questions.

Sally: First off, is the rope too tight? Koko? (she shakes her head). Okay then, I'm going to remove the gag. Just answer my questions and I'll untie you and you'll be free to go. (Koko nods her head and agrees.) When did you start writing?
KoKo: I started writing at the age of nine, when I began my own newspaper, but I was put out of business by my grade school principal because it competed with the school newspaper.

Sally: That is so funny, although I'm sure as a child it was pretty upsetting. But glad to see you continued forward with your writing career. Who would you say influenced you the most?
Koko: My main writing influences are Toni Morrison and Johanna Lindsey.

Sally: What do you enjoy the most about writing?
Koko: They are great escapes for me. They allow me to go places and see things I normally would not do in my regular life.

Sally: What is KoKo's naughty secret?
Koko: My naughty secret is that I like to read the personal ads on Craig's List.

Sally: Now that's not naughty. Surely you have something more juicy for our readers. Hmm... Koko? Why are you pursing your lips together? Now, you're shaking your head. I see, going back to read the first line in your blurb... Very well, what is in store for your readers?
Koko: (After breathing a sigh of relief. she agreed to continue in our interview) I am currently writing a sequel to Charmed. The story will focus on Yasmine Patel and her former slave Leopold, whom she was given to at the end of Charmed as part of her punishment for her crimes.

Untying Koko, thank you for joining us today and agreeing (clearing throat) to let me interview you. Please visit Koko on her website and find CHARMED on the EC website.

And remember where there's a hussy, there's always a way. (eg)

A new spin by a new voice that will leave you wanting more ...

Anny Cook burst onto the scene with an entirely new spin on an old tale - namely Chrysanthemum, an completely different look at the story of King Arthur. I'll be honest. I was a bit skeptical. But never one to pass up an opportunity I took a chance.

And was delighted :)

If you haven't read this book, you really should. And you know I'm not going to give away any of the goodies here. I'm just going to give you a tempting blurb:

Chrysanthemum

"On that dark day Arthur, mortally wounded, was taken to the Isle of Avalon by Vivian, Lady of the Lake, and Merlin, where he died and was laid to rest in the crystal cave…" Well, actually, that's not quite the way it happened.

In truth, Queen Vivian and Merlin abducted the king and returned him to his home planet, Avalon. Now he's anxious to marry off his youngest son, Gareth. When Florian LeFleur, his wardrobe guardian, asks permission to bring his three unmarried daughters to court, Arthur decides it's the perfect opportunity and assigns Gareth to oversee their time at Came-a-lot Castle.

Despite her determination to remain heart-free, Chrysanthemum immediately falls for Gareth. Life should have been rosy but there were roadblocks along the path to happily ever after. The Blue Knight captured Arthur, Percival the dragon demanded a virgin, Queen Vivian decided it would be the perfect time to stage a coup and the Abbott at Solomon's Choice Abbey chose Chrysanthemum for their ritual deflowering.

Will Gareth get Chrysanthemum to the priest in time to save the king and Avalon?

And what does Anny have to say about herself? Let me share a snippet of info from Anny:

I'm old enough to know better and young enough to be daring. I have a husband who encourages me to write and provides the time and a place to do so. I have children who are proud of the things I've accomplished and grandchildren who are too young to know what that might be.

An elderly cat and dog keep me company as I do the one thing I really, really love to do...and that is write. I'm so lucky that my life has circled back around to this place where I can sit at my desk as long as I want, imagining and creating new worlds, new characters, and writing about their lives. I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I do.

Thanks Anny. We'll be looking forward to more sizzling reads!

If light-hearted but sensual books are your thing, then RUN over to Ellora's Cave for a copy of this book. Those among you who are fans of light bondage will find something to provide a nice heat and everyone who enjoys a creative story line with humor, fantasy and sensuality that is steamy hot, will delight in this book.

A sexy fun Halloween Romance

What would Halloween be without a sexy hunk? And Eva's cover is more than that. But I can't tell you without giving it away. In EVA ST. CROIX's debut book, RORY'S REGRET, we get that and much more! Please welcome my friend, EVA, to the Blog. This story will have you laughing and crying over RORY'S REGRET, which debuts OCTOBER 5th. I can't wait!

To tease you like only a Hussy can tease, here's a litte blurb:
Halloween. A day for trick or treats and hauntings. For Dorian and Rory, it is a day to experience love and enjoy the pleasure of the flesh. They long for one another, waiting for the one day of the year they can touch each other again.

There is only one way that they can be together forever. Until then, they must repeat the day they died until a mortal sees them and helps them to the other side.

This Halloween a psychic reveals past horrors and Dorian is seen by a local girl. Rory, still unseen by a mortal, is filled with regret. Cruel events could cause her to be left behind while Dorian moves into the light. Will she be destined to spend eternity alone?

********************

So just who is this new talented writer? Well, she may be new to EC, but Eva St. Croix is the alter-ego of a popular romance writer. She lives in a tropical paradise where she spends her days lying by the pool drinking mint juleps while being fanned and fed grapes by adoring and gorgeous alpha males. If she were one of the characters in her book this would be so true. As it turns out she does live in a tropical paradise but instead of lying by the pool she's in it, the mint julep is bottled water, and the grapes are being thrown at her by adoring family members. And the fan? Not likely to happen unless she's doing the fanning.

Eva loves to put her characters in impossible situations while setting them emotionally on fire so they'll burn for each other with the slightest touch. Her plot lines are hot, spunky and intriguing - just what her characters beg for when they're not begging for each other. Eva adds suspense to keep her readers guessing and turning the pages.

You'll quite often find Eva with a book in her hand, an ebook on her reader, or a magazine shoved in her oversized purse. She loves to read but more than that she likes to watch people going about their daily activities or having conversations (she's been known to listen in a time or two) for plot ideas. People watching can reveal so much if you only take the time to notice the details.

Crafting a story is a natural ability to Eva. You'll often find her hatching out a plot on her laptop where the good guys have to come together to defeat impossible situations. The coming together is the very best part--hot, wild and wicked--so much so you'll be looking for a fan and mint julep of your own just to cool down.

******************

I caught up with EVA the other day in her whirlwind life and asked her a few questions I know you are all wanting to ask her.

Sally: So Eva can you tell us why you decided to start writing erotic romance?

EVA: I’ve always been an avid reader and writer. I wanted to branch off and diversify my work into erotic romance so that I could explore the closest relationship between a man and woman in a more intimate way.

Sally: You can't get any more intimate with a loving relationship than erotic romance. I definitely agree, fanning myself. Why this story? Where did you get the idea to write RORY'S REGRET?

EVA: I wanted to write a story for Halloween that showed how love lasts past death.

Sally: And you certainly did that with RORY'S REGRET! Ah.. can we ask... Oh yeah, a Hussy can always ask who influenced you the most?

EVA: Dear hubbie. ;-)

Sally: Okay, I should have seen I was walking right into that one.(g) Now it's payback time. What is Eva’s naughty secret?

EVA: Now if I tell it won’t be a secret anymore will it?

Sally: Don't think this Hussy is going to give up and accept an answer like that. There is blackmail you know...

EVA: Okay. Okay. Whispering.

Sally: Oh dear! I can't put that on a pubic forum... On to the next question. (Clearing throat) Everyone has special foods and places they enjoy for romantic interludes. Tell us yours.

EVA: Honey and a moonlit forest.

Sally:Oh yeah, I'm getting a visual here. Before we end the interview, Eva, what do you want readers to know about your writing?

EVA: That it comes from the heart.

Sally: And, what do you want them to take away from reading your books?

EVA: I want them to think about my characters long after they’ve put the book down. If I can accomplish that then I’ve done service to my readers.

Sally: What can readers expect from you in the future?

EVA: My next erotic romance will be Phillip and Valerie’s story, the secondary couple in Rory’s Regret.

I can't wait for the second book in the series! And to tease you, hussies fruther, here's a short excerpt from RORY'S REGRET and to buy her book on Oct 5th, just visit Ellora's Cave

Thank you for being our guest on the blog, Eva! Everyone mark your calendars for October 5th.

Sally:)
Always a Hussy!

Does mainstream fiction fill our yearnings for love?

In some cases yes. Like the writing of Terry Odell. A fellow Floridian and great friend, Terry hit the scene with Cerridwen Press like a rocket and has been going strong, producing one great read after the other.

One of my favorites is What's in a Name? A woman on the run who runs right into mystery and danger? My kind of book. Since it's my trademark not to reveal too much, I'll only give you a blurb about the book, then none of it will be spoiled during the read.

What's in a Name?

What happens when you're running for the wrong reason? Kelli Carpenter is afraid someone will connect her to the self-defense killing of a former lover. She's changed her identity, found a new career and thinks she's safe, but prefers to keep distance between herself and everyone else.

When handsome stranger Blake Windsor shows up purporting to be a handyman doing much needed repairs at the wilderness jobsite where Kelli is working, a site to give inner city kids temporary respite from their lives dominated by concrete and drive-bys, Kelli's instincts tell her to leave, but the man has her boss's approval, and without him, the project won't be completed on time.

Blake, corporate executive who accepted his boss's request to find out if Kelli Carpenter is really Casey Wallace, begrudgingly returns to the blue-collar construction lifestyle he vowed to leave behind. The woman he meets bears little resemblance to the woman he's supposed to find, but something about her mystifies him, and he decides to continue with his deception to learn more about her.

When someone comes after Kelli, she runs—but she takes Blake with her. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer is her philosophy. And Kelli is convinced Blake knows something that will link her to her lover's death, ending her life as she knows it.

Now aren't you ready to rush over to Cerridwen and get a copy of this book?? And I bet you're curious about the mind that created this tale, so let me share a little info with you about Terry, in her own words:

From Terry:

First, let me thank you for inviting me to share some of your blogspace. I've noticed that a common question is some variant of, "how did you start writing/how long have you been writing/when did you know you wanted to be a writer?"

Well – I got into this by mistake. Yep. Never really thought I'd actually put words to paper (or screen, depending on how you look at it.) I always made up stories—usually because I thought I could "fix" something someone else had written, or more likely, a better ending for a television episode, or a better scene in a movie. But actually write? No way. I tried it once—sat at the keyboard and after one page of having to type all those commas and quotation marks for dialogue (and, boy, do I love to set my characters loose and let them talk!), I said, "too much work" and went back to writing in my head.

Then, one day my son was home for a visit. As young men are wont to do, he was watching television, which meant he was clicking the remote. He stopped at one show and said, "Have you watched Highlander? It's all about these Immortals who can't die unless you cut off their heads, and then you get all their power."

Being a cool mom, I started watching the show, figuring I'd be able to talk about it with him. After all, hadn't I read a slew of Larry Niven so I could converse with my nuclear-physicist son-in-law on some sort of common ground? Well, after one episode, I figured this was going to be EASY. Who could not like watching Adrian Paul?

I was hooked, and started wondering about the 'rules' of Immortality. I'd never seen the movie, so my world was limited to television episodes. I had questions. I discovered Compuserve forums (this was a while ago!) and from there, found fanfiction. I hooked up with a few authors whose style I admired, and offered to edit (beta read, in their jargon) because I had a decent eye for technique and grammar. One weekend, I was home alone and decided to write a story that had been playing around in my head. What if there was some kind of virus that evolved on the home world of Immortals? I toiled over a short story and sent it to the author I was reading for. She kindly took me under her wing and pointed out all the things I needed to learn. I picked up the gauntlet and started learning a new craft.

Time passed, and I branched out into original fiction. Found a critique group. Starting writing a novel. I thought it was a mystery, but my daughters told me it was obviously a romance, but that's another story. One day, I talked to my son, and being cool, of course, told him I thought it sucked that Tessa had died. He said, "Huh?" I said, "Highlander. You know, Tessa. Duncan's girlfriend/fiancé. They killed her off."

To which he replied, "Oh, I've never actually watched the show. I just thought it was a neat concept."

Not that it was a total waste. I now have 3 novels with Cerridwen (two in print) and several short stories with The Wild Rose Press. And one of those original Highlander short stories evolved into What's in a Name?, the second of my books to be published by Cerridwen. The other two are Finding Sarah, and it sequel, Starting Over, just released – with a fantastic Syneca cover!

Thanks, Terry - for the interesting insight into your writing and for the praise (you know we cover artists get all mushy when we get praise!) And a big thank you for being our featured must read author! We'll be looking forward to more books, and encourage all our readers to head on over to Cerridwen to check out Terry's books, and also to visit her site and learn more about her.

From The Hussies, here's wishing you a fantastic weekend and a reminder that letting your inner Hussy out to play can be a VERY good thing :)

Not all Geeks are Men!

Admit it, Hussies. When you think geek you think of a man. Well in Taige Crenshaw's latest book, Golden Seduction the geek is the heroine.

It's true, Laila Brooks is a geek at heart. She is comfortable with her computer and books. Adventure to her is finding a new computer code that no one else has. An unexpected gift of a captivating deck of tarot cards draws her into an adventure to save a man and his people, while finding herself and coming out of her shell. Adventure has never been so sizzling and tempting.

Aleneic knows that his time is limited and he has to complete his quest or be sent back into a lonely existence. The fates have put him in the path of a woman who makes him do the one thing he is afraid to do—hope things will be different.

***************************

I love a book about a desperate situation with that ticking clock. It just makes things heat up and whew, this one just might blow the computer and then what will our geek heroine do? I think she'll find plenty to do with a delicious hero - Aleneic. I mean the name alone should make her screen freeze and melt her components!

And what about the talented woman who wrote this sizzler? Here's what her bio says:

Taige Crenshaw has been enthralled with the written word from time she picked up her first book. It wasn’t long before she started to make up her own tales of romance.

Her novels are set in today between people who know what they want and how to get it. As well as in the future of vast universes between beautiful, strange and unique beings with lots of spice and sensuality added to her work.

Always hard at work creating new and exciting places Taige can be found curled up with a hot novel with exciting characters when she is not creating her own. Join her in the fun, frolic, interesting people and far reaches of the world in her novels.

***************************

Being the hussy that I am, I wanted to know more about our featured author, so I did one of the things a hussy is best at (eg) I asked questions.

Sally: What/who inspired you to write?

Taige: I’m actually a little shy {with a smile} but no one seems to believe me. LOL. My novels are my way of talking to the world. I’ve been making up my own stories, poetry and fairytales since I was a child. I used to gather my family in the living room and tell my stories. They would clap and say they were wonderful. LOL.

Now I bring my stories to the world audience. I write in a variety of genres. My stories are intricate and I like to put my spin on things. LOL. Meaning I don’t do the typical so expect a twist to come and when it does I hope it makes the reader go hmm... or wow. I like to surprise and give readers something to think about.

Also I have to write it’s just something I must do. I get cranky if I don’t. Also I have an opinionated muse named Mikayla who well… It’s not pretty I shudder to even think about it.

Sally: Any author who names her muse warrants this question: Where did you get the idea for your book?

Taige: Golden Seduction features the King of Cups tarot card. It is part of the EC Torrid Tarot theme. When I decided to write the story I thought of many things. The most prominent thing I wanted to portray was reverence, duty, desire and love. Aleneic, my hero is a man who has been tested and all he holds dear has been taken from him. He has kept his wisdom and kindness. Aleneic will find a woman whose belief in him that will humble and ultimately change him. Golden Seduction is an exploration with lots of surprises that even shocked me.

Sally: So, what is the one thing you want your readers to take away from reading your book?

Taige: I want them to take away the sense of hope and sensuality. The hope of my hero and heroine. The sensuality of their love story will touch many emotions. They will have an adventure and utmost love.

Sally: Okay, now for the probing and well, let's face it, downright nosey question. What is your naughty secret?

Taige: I have a weakness for Jello and caramel. Yum. Use your imagination {wink}.

Sally: Okay, I think that is JEDI (Just Enough Damaging Information), yes I just made that up. Hussy Time! But I'm not through with you yet, Taige. I have to know what's next? As in Books.

Taige: I have a few more releases coming up for this year and 2008.

Okay, that's the teaser, all you hussies. Go visit Taige's website and find out the answer to my last question.

Thank you for being with us today, Taige!

Can comedy set your panties on fire? You bet'cha!

If your reading a book by Daisy Dexter Dobbs. Daisy hit the scene like a nuclear explosion when she joined Ellora's Cave. The first book of Daisy's I read was Wicked Payback. I wasn't ten pages into the book and knew I was hooked. Here was a writer who could entertain me!

On August 31st, Daisy's latest book Finding Cupid was released from Ellora's Cave. You can bet your push-up bra that I was waiting at the door on release day! This book is a MUST READ! I promise you that you'll laugh 'till you cry, and you'll be fanning yourself and hoping there's a man close by as well!

So tell us more, you shout. Well, you know me. I hate to give anything away. Why spoil the fun, right? So, I'll give you a little tease instead.

Finding Cupid

Finding Cupid is a contemporary fantasy, paranormal erotic romantic comedy:

A resident of Mount Olympus and student at Cupid Academy, Lula travels to Earth as part of her final exam for the Perfect Love Matches 101 course. Capricious and absentminded, she's determined to make a positive impression on Cupid, who'll be traveling incognito. To her horror, flight turbulence whips Lula's class materials out of the chariot. Without her map to Cupid's Earthly headquarters or her invisibility garb, the naïve nymph is in trouble.

Hunky, macho electrical contractor Dake Dronyer is in hell. At least that's how he feels manning Cupid's Headquarters, his gay brother's girly flower shop, during an emergency. When a gorgeous, curvy, nearly naked blonde bursts into the shop, talking of such bizarre things as nymphs, Cupid, chariots and invisible wings, things start looking up. Dake's captivated, and wild with desire.

Of course, he's certain she's nuts. And probably a hooker.

Lula's thrilled. At last, she's found Cupid!

As Grannie would say, "good lord and a quarter!" Did she ever find Cupid!! Here's three words to sum it up ... hot... hotter... hottest!

I was enchanted, fascinated and delighted, and found myself wondering just how to heck Daisy continues to come up with such unique story-lines. So, I headed over to read her book notes on her site, and discovered this interesting bit of info.

Daisy's Book Notes:

Romantic comedy fantasies are especially fun to write because I enjoy the concept so much. It seems I have dozens of fantasy scenarios swimming around inside my head at any given time and I do my best to write them down before I forget them.
I had several books of Greek and Roman myths when I was young. One was handed down to me from my mother from when she was a child and it contained the most extraordinary illustrations. Those wonderful, magical myths stirred my imagination and I longed to find a way to fly up to Mount Olympus and meet the gods.
In Finding Cupid, I've revisited my favorite myths and enjoyed giving the various gods and goddesses their own, unique personalities and lifestyles. When I was less than halfway through the writing of this story, I knew I'd have to revisit these characters because there was so much more story to be told and so many fabulous adventures I imagined taking place.

So, Finding Cupid became the first book in my Cupid Academy series.

Personally, I can't wait for the next installment, and if you're eager for an author who knows how to deliver, hurry, hurry, hurry over to Ellora's Cave and check out all of Daisy's books. And while you're at it, visit Daisy's Website. It's as entertain as the lady herself!

Being the super gal that she is, Daisy sent a nice little note I'd like to share with you.

I’m truly honored and excited to be among the writers profiled on The Hussies Book Slam. Thanks again for your kind generosity in offering this opportunity, Syn.

At my first glimpse of Finding Cupid’s beautiful cover, I was giggly with delight. The man’s appearance is amazingly close to my mental image of the story’s hero. I gazed at him thinking, yes . . . yes, this is him. This is Dake! My thanks to Syneca for nailing it so perfectly. The woman’s not only fabulously talented, she’s incredibly insightful, too.

This romantic comedy is the first full fantasy story I’ve written. I loved putting my own spin on favorite myths and enjoyed giving the gods and goddesses their own, unique personalities and lifestyles. Finding Cupid also includes my first male/male intimacy scenes. I crafted them to be sizzling hot, yet beautiful and loving at the same time. As for the hero and heroine, their love scenes are fun, fantasy-filled and utterly scorching.

I spent time reading through the other Book Slam posts here and learned a lot about each writer and her books (my TBR pile has significantly increased!). When I came to the part in Ashlyn Chase’s excellent article about those really nice, lovely predictions her mom made about her future--and how they came true, I smiled. I was reminded of my mom’s predictions about me, which also came to fruition . . . um, perhaps not quite as she had intended.

As a kid I was an awkward, uncoordinated klutz who concealed shyness by being a clown (no, not the wig, fake nose and mini-bicycle-riding kind). I spent my time reading, writing, and creating art. Mom told me umpteen times that if I wasted my time as a writer, artist, and acting like an idiot, all I’d ever accomplish in life was making people laugh at me.

And, son-of-a-gun, she was right! Today I do what I love best, combining laughter and writing to create sexy romantic comedies, and spending my leisure hours creating quirky artwork. Thanks Mom (waving to heaven), I’m having the time of my life and love making people laugh!

Of course, my ears still ring with Mom’s other prediction--the one about me going to hell in a handbasket. Sheesh, it’s uncanny. How the woman knew I’d end up making my living writing erotic books filled with hot, steamy sex and brimming with shockingly naughty bad words, I’ll never know. As to whether that particular prediction comes true . . . well, I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

I have a feeling Mom's pleased as punch that Daisy's found her calling and is delighting us with her books. And as to the going to hell in a handbasket, well, Daisy, grannie said the same thing about me, so I guess now I know I'll have company :)

Thanks again to Daisy for being our featured Must Read writer. And thanks to you for visiting. Hope your day is Hussicilious and you find time to release your inner Hussy.

Hugs-

Steamy, scorching, sexy and passionate ….

Yep, you guessed it, I’m talking about the fabulous Cris Anson. Her books have earned rave reviews and a host of fans, and if you’ve missed reading a book by Cris you’ve sure cheated yourself out of a fascinating and enchanting good time.

One of my favorite books by Cris is Dance of the Crystal. It’s received critical acclaim, and an excerpt of it was featured in Playgirl Magazine. In case you haven’t read it, I won’t spoil it for you by saying too much, but will give you a tempting blurb to stimulate your appetite.

Dance of the Crystal

Ex-Marine and bar-owner Soren, the quiet loner of the Thorvald brothers, reluctantly offers himself at a Take a Bachelor to Dinner Auction for charity. But when the minx who “won” him seems to be making a quick getaway under the table, a humiliated and angry Soren hoists her over his shoulder and storms from the ballroom.

So begins a rocky love affair between two unlikely people.

But when thirty-year old Crystal D’Angelo’s talisman tells her that Soren is The One she’s been waiting for, she’s ready to give him everything—heart, soul…virginity.

Soren, whose “man-woman skills” are almost nonexistent, finds he is unable to stay away from the innocent but sensual Crystal, who unleashes a sexual side of him he never knew existed.
But convincing Soren—who learned as a child that love hurts, and no woman can be trusted with his heart—that what she feels for him is about more than magic, is a tough battle she won’t give up on.

As things heat up between them, a psychotic stalker takes exception to Crystal’s relationship with Soren and violently turns her world upside down.
Trust me, this third book in Cris’ Dance series is a must read. Of course, you don’t have to trust me. You can take the advice of reviewers, who’ve made comments such as:

“Filled to the brim with humor, steamy erotic scenes, passionate emotions, and thrilling action, Dance of the Crystal is a truly magnificent tale, with a depth that I don’t see very often. This is definitely one series that everyone should keep an eye on!”
Ecataromance

Ms. Anson knocks you for a loop with such memorable characters that she will have the readers coming back for more. Dance of the Crystal has an alpha hero that you just want all to yourself and a strong innocent heroine that goes after what she wants. Ms. Anson will surprise you in the end with this hot romance. She has just the right amount of mystery to keep you reading and a lot of hot sensual romance that you will need an air conditioner just to cool down. Awesome job, Ms. Anson !
5 angels – Fallen Angel Reviews

"Ms. Anson's Dance of the Crystal is a great contemporary erotic romantic suspense. The characters are three-dimensional. The dialogue is superb. The plotline is a lot of fun because of the protagonists, secondary characters, and the antagonist....If you like your romances HOT and with an element of suspense, then pick up a copy of Ms. Anson's Dance of the Crystal. It's definitely worth reading."
5 stars- Just Erotic Romance Reviews

About Cris:

Cris Anson firmly believes that love is the greatest gift…to give or to receive. In her writing, she lives for the moment when her characters realize they love each other, usually after much antagonism and conflict. And when they express that love physically, Cris keeps a fire extinguisher near the keyboard in case of spontaneous combustion. Multi-published and twice EPPIE-nominated in romantic suspense under another name, she was usually asked to tone down her love scenes. For Ellora’s Cave, she’s happy to turn the flame as high as it will go—and then some.

After suffering the loss of her real-life hero/husband of twenty-two years, Cris has picked up the pieces of her life and tries to remember only the good times...slow-dancing with him to the Big-Band sound of Glenn Miller's music, vacations to scenic national parks in a snug recreational vehicle, his tender and fierce love, his unflagging belief in her ability to write stories that touch the heart as well as the libido. Bits and pieces of his tenacity, optimism, code of honor and lust for life will live on in her imaginary heroes.

From someone who has experienced the spontaneous combustion that can result from a book by Cris Anson, I say HURRY over to Ellora’s Cave to purchase her books. Cris has a Quickie releasing from Ellora’s Cave in October “Mischief Night”.

You can visit Cris online at and learn more about her and her writing.

Thanks to Cris for being our featured author. She definitely gets a Must Read rating from The Hussies. And was nice enough to send us this gracious comment:

From Cris: You Hussies are the best! Thanks, Ciana and Sally, for saying such nice things about me, and for your unbridled enthusiasm about my books. Hugs to you both.

Cris, we can't wait to meet you at RT and have some fun!! You're a doll :)

Thanks to all of you for visiting. Remember, when you’re in the Hussy Zone to leave the tame out of your name!

Cheers-

What does a drop-dead gorgeous alpha male have to do with erotic romance books?

Everything! We write about them, dream about them, fantasize about them, drool over them and get positively giddy looking at them. So when Sally and I lucked out and found our Official Hunk, why we were so overjoyed that we naturally wanted to spread the joy around.

So, please welcome Scott, The Official Hunk of the Hussies. Woo hoo baby! (Sorry, but hey, what's not to shout about?)

Scott is an "in-demand" man. You've probably already seen him on book covers, and those of you who've visited with The Hussies may have seen a luscious poster of Scott and his sword. (No, I really mean his sword.)

Later in the month, we'll be posting an in-depth interview with Scott on our web site, and each week, on Saturday we'll be featuring something new on The Hussies Blog, a weekly column called She Said, He Said: The Hunk and the Hussies answer all your questions about romance, love and sex. As a matter of fact, our debut was today, so pay the blog a visit and see what Scott and I had to say about this week's provocative question from "Not getting any" from NM. And be sure to mark your calendar for next Saturday when Scott and Sally take on the topic of getting back into the swing of dating.

Hope you're all having a fantastic labor day weekend. Join us here tomorrow when we feature the talented and sensual Cris Anson.

And remember, when you're in the Hussy Zone, Tame is Not in Your Name!
